Technology
REMS (Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry) is an FDA-cleared technology that uses ultrasound to assess your bone health — measuring both density and quality without any radiation exposure.
How It Works
REMS uses high-frequency ultrasound waves — the same technology trusted in prenatal imaging — to analyze bone tissue at your spine and hip. Unlike X-ray-based methods, there is no ionizing radiation involved.
During the scan, the REMS device sends ultrasound signals through your bone. Advanced algorithms, validated by artificial intelligence, analyze the returning signals to build a detailed profile of both the mineral density and the internal structure (microarchitecture) of your bones.
The entire process takes approximately 20 minutes. You sit comfortably while the scan is performed, and your results are available the same day — explained clearly by our team before you leave.
Your Results
Quantifies the mineral content of your bones, providing T-scores comparable to traditional methods — screening measurement for educational reference.
Evaluates the structural integrity and internal organization of your bone tissue — estimated screening indicator, not a clinical measurement.
An integrated assessment that combines density and quality data to provide a clearer picture of overall bone strength — educational estimate based on screening data, not a clinical assessment.
A forward-looking evaluation that estimates your likelihood of fracture over the next five years based on your scan data — statistical estimate for educational purposes only, not a medical prediction.
Comparison
Both technologies are FDA-cleared and used worldwide. Here is a factual comparison of what each offers.
This comparison is provided for educational purposes only. REMS screening and DXA are different technologies serving different purposes. Consult your healthcare provider for clinical guidance.

Research
REMS technology has been the subject of multiple published studies in medical and scientific journals. The technology has been validated for accuracy in measuring bone density and has demonstrated the ability to provide additional insights into bone quality that density-only methods cannot offer.
We recommend discussing your results with your licensed healthcare professional, who can place your REMS data in the context of your full health profile.
